This four-hour interactive course begins with an overview of the basic homeowners insurance policy and additional coverage to consider. What is and is and is not covered by homeowners insurance will be examined through scenarios and case studies. Issues include: injuries and damage that the homeowner, family pets cause to others, vacation rentals, hosting weddings and parties, truly assessing proper cover- age of both home and possessions, replacement vs. cash value...plus many more! Non-insurance individuals welcome.

Insurance Institute. Understanding workers compensation insurance begins with a sound understanding of the fundamentals. In this foundational class, the instructor will lead students through an overview of workers compensation to introduce learners to areas such as: policy and endorsements as well as State law requirements for issuance. Experience modification and other State rating procedures such ARAP will be covered.

Insurance Institute. This involves three major topics: 1) Coverage 2) Liability and 3) Damages. The coverage topic involves the analysis of the standard insurance policies applicable in casualty claims (i.e. Personal Automobile Policy. Homeowners Policy, and Commercial Auto and General Liability Policies). The coverage analysis would include discussing the various parts of the policy such as the common policy definitions, the insurance agreement, covered risks and exclusion and conditions. The liability topic would include an introduction to legal liability concepts such negligence which triggers the coverage discussed above. Lastly, the damages topic would involve a discussion of the factors considered in the evaluation process(how the insurance company comes up with a value in a claim for bodily injury, wrongful death, etc)

Basic I - American Sign Language is the third most used language in the United States. ASL is a vital tool for educators, medical personnel, EMTs, police, public employees early childhood staff and service/support providers. This course introduces the basic structure, concepts and applications of sign language. Independent study is required and videotaping will be utilized.

Basic II Intermediate. This course offers an on-going study in American Sign Language. Intermediate skills will be developed through dialog, story telling, group sign games, and videotaping. This course will update your signs and provide opportunities to improve conversational signing by practicing with other students. Deaf culture and current issues will be discussed. Prerequisite: Basic Skills in American Sign Language.

Artistic Workshop. This Artistic Sign Workshop is an exciting course that teaches artistic interpretation of sign language. Emphasis is placed on enhancing signing skills, facial expressions, body language/movement and creating visuals through the use of costumes and props. Music and videotaping will be utilized. This course is for early childcare and related providers, educators, special education teachers, and parents. The focus is on developing skills for the effective applilcation of Sign Language in childcare settings, creative classrooms and enhancement of language acquisition in young children. Through active participation, teachers and parents are introduced to the frameworks of signing, age appropriate signed vocabulary, facial and body language, sign-enhanced story-telling, music and games.
