Prerequisite: Completion of ENGL-0101 (Composition I) with a passing grade. 3 hours credit Employment Law addresses the major issues and rules of employment law in the work place. The course focuses on employment law as it relates to management, industrial relations or human resources in the work place. On ground meetings for this course are not required. Prerequisites: None Effective Spring 2005, if you are a Business major, you must have a "C" or better in all business courses to meet the requirementsof the business degree program.

3 hours credit The focus of this course is more on how accounting is used in the decision-making process and less on complex accounting rules. It discusses the accounting cycle, accounting for merchandising operations, accounting systems, cash, receivables, inventories, fixed and intangible assets, current liabilities, corporations, bonds payable and investments in bonds, statement of cashflows, and financial statement analysis. Prerequisites: Approval of Honors Program Director. Concurrent requirement: BUSN- 0281-68 Directed Independent Study. 1 hour credit This course explains the techniques used to successfully obtain a job. Areas covered include locating job openings, completing application forms; writing an application letter, resume, and follow-up letter; preparing for interviews; and interviewing. 3 hours credit This course introduces the student to contemporary business issues related to the conduct of business in a capitalistic context from an ethical perspective. It examines current business issues within philosophical constructs and ethical reasoning. It helps students understand the relationship of business and society, and the importance of seeing business in the larger context of social values. Prerequisites: Basic computer skills and Internet access. 3 hours credit each semester The general purpose of the occupational internship is to bridge the gap between work and college by insuring workplace skills meet the needs of students' career goals and the needs of the employer. The course is offered in conjunction with the Business Administration/Mid-Management program to fulfill the requirement for on-the-job training.
