This introductory course covers fundamental elements of the legal system as they affect businesses. The course uses professional negligence as the vehicle for demonstrating the system of judicial precedent. Business Law proceeds to look at the essentials of establishing and performing simple contracts and the remedies available in the event of a breach. The course looks at the essential characteristics of the various forms of business relationships, and proceeds into the nature or property, instruments and devises.

This introductory course provides an overview of globalization and examines the utility and adaptability of core business functions within a global context. Topics to be covered include the fundamentals of international trade, foreign direct investment, international finance, international human resource management, international operations management, outsourcing, decision-making in the multinational enterprise, international management, and corporate strategies.

This course provides the student with an introductory knowledge of the Taft-Hartley Act, the Wagner Act, the Landrum Griffin Act, labor contract grievance procedures, unfair labor practices, labor arbitration, the rule of Past Practice, steward/supervisory conduct in the administration of the grievance procedure, the disciplinary process, the 7 tests of Just Cause, elements of insubordination, the collective bargaining process, and labor relations communication skills.

This course covers the basic concepts in risk management and insurance, legal principles in risk and insurance, personal property and liability risks, commercial property and liability risks, and life and health risks and the insurance industry. Three modules will be covered: Theory of Risk, Corporate Risk Management for Financial Capital and Corporate Risk Management for Human Capital.

This introductory course will cover general chemistry via asynchronous online discussions, presentations and demonstrations. Lab theory and skills will be a combination of online discussion and a home lab.

This course is a survey incorporating intrapersonal, interpersonal, and public speaking. Students will acquire theory and develop skills in gender communication, workplace communication, interviewing, informative and persuasive speaking.

This course covers the sociological, economic and political effects of mass communications systems on American culture. Students will examine communications and mass media theories and models; historical and contemporary research; the various communications industries; discussions of topical issues in communications; and the effects of media on society.

This course investigates communication and relationships in creating a productive work environment. Effectiveness in personal and social relationships is also covered through readings and exercises involving non-verbal communication, constructive feedback, dealing with anger, and resolving conflict.

This course will provide a practical understanding of the criminal justice system through examining and role-playing some of the most notorious trials of recent times. Each of those trials and the lead-up to the trials provide an overview of the criminal justice system. Using the facts from those cases and other, students will have the opportunity to play each of the critical roles in the criminal justice system. The student will gather evidence, present evidence, and decide the defendant's fate based on the evidence.

This course is an examination of the principles and concepts of criminal behavior. Criminological theories and typologies; the nature, distribution and extent of crime and the legal and societal reactions to crime will all be critically examined. The objectives of the course are to develop the ability to engage in focused, systematic thinking and written expression about criminal behavior and to draw correlations between actual criminal activity and theoretical models.
