Anyone traveling with the college on the China trip summer 2009 must take this CAPE course OR register for one credit hour of Field Study. We will have four pre-trip lectures by experts in the field, beginning June 16, 2009 at 7PM in Morrison Hall Music Room, Middletown campus. The lectures will involve the history, culture, politics, art and architecture of ancient and modern China. We'll also brief you on everything you need for this exciting trip. This course is designed for students requesting re-admission to O.C.C.C. nursing program. Content includes current nursing program policies, medication calculations, nursing process, legal and ethical issues in nursing, review of infection control and review of select nursing procedures. There will be quizzes and skill performance evaluations. All students are required to purchase Daniels & Smith, Clinical Calculations 5th Edition and Nursing Diagnosis Book (see titles in bookstore). Upon successful completion, the student will be more prepared to succeed in the nursing courses.

Learn the skills and knowledge required to develop effective lifeguard systems at swimming pools and waterfronts. Successful completion yields Lifeguard Training and AED certification. Participants must be 15 years old, swim 300 yards continuously using the front crawl, breaststroke for at least 100 yards each. Must submerge to minimum depth of 7 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object and return using legs only.

Join SUNY Orange's Global Initiative: Sustaining the Earth in a visit to the Four Corners area of the American Southwest during Summer Session 1. Despite this region's uncompromising natural environment, it has been the home to numerous Native American groups for the millennia as well as a rapidly expanding contemporary population. Our trip will explore both the natural and cultural landscape to examine the nuanced relationships between people and environment.
