Course content includes professional competencies and dispositions, the ethical dimension of teaching, current issues in education, and the College of Education and Leadership's conceptual framework including the exemplars of quality teaching. Classroom observations, case studies, and service learning are integral course components. Utilization of library resources and technology is an expected requirement. By the conclusion of this course, the candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the profession, of the teacher preparation program and the portfolio assessment process.
