EDT 425: The Middle School Principles And Practices

This course is primarily a study of organization (school structure), philosophy and curriculum of middle level education (9-14 year olds), grades 4-9. It is designed to present the theoretical knowledge base about middle level (school) education. Issues and concerns, current trends and the essential elements relating to middle level education will be discussed throughout the semester of study. A variety of inquiry methods will be modeled that encourage critical thinking skills. Prerequisite(s): EDT 222, 321.
