Topics include a basic study of the body systems as well as an introduction to homeostasis, cells, tissues, nutrition, acid-base balance, and electrolytes. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the fundamental principles of anatomy and physiology and their interrelationships. It is highly recommended that a student enroll in BIO 094 prior to enrolling in this course if the student has not had high school anatomy and physiology. Prerequisites: Acceptable placement score or RED 090.

Topics include the structure, function, and interrelationship of organ systems with emphasis on the processes which maintain homeostasis. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an indepth understanding of principles of anatomy and physiology and their interrelationships. This course also includes the study of basic microbiology. It is highly recommended that a student enroll in BIO 094 prior to enrolling in this course if the student has not had high school anatomy and physiology. Prerequisite: Acceptable placement score or RED 090
