Corequisite: None This course is a health related development of skills and techniques required for a comprehensive health assessment for nursing students within a legal/ ethical framework. This course lends itself to a blocked approach.

Prerequisite: None Co-requisite: RNSG 1343 A method of instruction providing detailed education, training, and workbased experience and direct patient/client care, generally at a clinical site. Specifi c detailed learning objectives are developed for each course by the faculty. On-site clinical instruction, supervision, evaluation, and placement are the responsibility of the College faculty. Clinical experiences are unpaid external learning experiences.

Prerequisite: RNSG 1301, 1215, 1327, 1162 Co-requisite: RNSG 1343 This course is a health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to continue to apply theory, skills, and concepts of professional nursing in structures healthcare settings in the care of adult clients/families with complex medical-surgical health care needs associated with each body system. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional in the care of adult clients in acute care settings. The concepts of communications, caring, community and critical thinking are used throughout the course.

Prerequisite: RNSG 1301, 1215, 1327, 1162, 1343, 1261 Co-requisite: RNSG 2213 This clinical provides a health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts related to nursing care of clients with alterations in mental health. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional in a clinical setting.

Prerequisite: None Co-requisite: None This course introduces the science of pharmacology with emphasis on the actions, interactions, adverse effects, and nursing implications of each drug classifi cation. Topics include the roles and responsibilities of the nurse in safe administration of medications within a legal/ethical framework.

Prerequisite: Topics include health promotion, expanded assessment, analysis of data, nursing process, pharmacology, multidisciplinary teamwork, communication, and applicable competencies in knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework throughout the life span. this course lends itself to either a blocked or integrated approach.

Prerequisite: RNSG 1301, 1215, 1327, 1162 Co-requisite: RNSG 1261 This course will integrate previous knowledge and skills related to common adult health needs into the continued development of the professional nurse as a provider of care, coordinator of care and member of a profession in the care of adult clients/families in structured health care settings with complex medical-surgical health care needs associated with each body system. The emphasis will focus on the knowledge, judgments, skills and professional values of nursing within a legal/ethical framework.

Prerequisite: RNSG 1301, 1215, 1327, 1162, 1343, 1261, 2213, 1262, 2201, 2208, 2261, 2262, 2221, 2231, 2260, 2263 This course focuses on application of client assessment skills, critical thinking, and independent nursing intervention to care for diverse client/ families throughout the life span whose health care needs may be diffi cult to predict. Emphasis of this course is on collaborative clinical decisionmaking, nursing leadership skills, and client management. Topics include the signifi cance of professional development, trends in nursing and health care, and applicable knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. The student is required to pass a nationally accredited exit examination. The student will be recommended to apply for the national licensing exam once course requirements have been fulfi lled.

This course focuses on the study of concepts related to the provision of nursing care for children and families, emphasizing judgment and professional value within a legal/ethical framework.
