    This course will cover the ethical, legal, licensure, continuing education requirements, and patient education responsibilities of the respiratory care professional. Ethical and legal responsibilities of other health professionals will be discussed. The student will formulate a lesson plan, presentation, and appropriate test for a topic from the related field of Respiratory Care to a community of interest. (The instructor will set this up.) The student will formulate a resume, cover letter, letter of resignation, and a portfolio.     0 4 2 This course is designed to supplement the summer clinical experiences. Concepts, techniques, and procedures learned in the fall and spring semesters are reinforced. Emphasis is placed on correct set-up and application of procedures and equipment to patient situations. Topics include humidity and aerosol therapy, airway management procedures, full and partial ventilatory support application, managing the patient-ventilator system and arterial blood gas procurement and analysis. The student will address, in the laboratory environment, the three difficulty levels of learning (Recall, Application, and Analysis).
