This course provides the skills and knowledge necessary to manage and maintain the Windows 2003 Active Directory structure. Both logical and physical components will be explained and demonstrated. Students will learn to create a forest/domain structure, organize and plan user/group strategies, deploy site configurations, understand Operation Masters and their role within the Active Directory structure, and learn the basic backup and restore features of this directory service. Knowledge of Windows XP and/or client interfaces is suggested. File/folder structure management and creation, DOS, and hardware knowledge is required. Lab fee required. Prerequisite or corequisite: CTS 2340.

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to design, plan and optimize the many features of a Windows 2003 infrastructure. These skills include the deployment of a TCP/IP physical and logical network plan, the incorporation of a routing strategy, maintenance of a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol implementation, optimization of both Domain Name and Windows Internet Naming Services, and the ability to organize and troubleshoot network connectivity while utilizing IPSec network access. Knowledge of the Windows XP and/or client interfaces is suggested. File/folder structure management and creation, DOS, and hardware knowledge is required. Lab fee required. Prerequisite or corequisite: CTS 2340C.

This course provides the skills and knowledge necessary to design a Windows 2003 Security Structure. Design topics include introduction to the framework of security design, identification of security threats and risks, and the process of designing security to accommodate physical resources, computers, accounts, authentication, data, data transmission, network perimeters, and how to create an incident response procedure/ plan when utilizing a Windows 2003 infrastructure. Knowledge of Windows XP and/or client interfaces is suggested. File/folder structure management and creation, DOS, and hardware knowledge is required. Lab fee required. Prerequisite or corequisite: CTS 2162C.

The goal of this course is to provide those already certified on Windows 2000 products the knowledge required by System Administrators, Network Administrators, and IT professionals who implement, manage and troubleshoot existing network and server environments to upgrade their current MCSA 2000 certificate based on the Microsoft Windows 2003 platform requirements. These skills are generally required in medium to large sized organizations that maintain 200 to 26,000 user desktops and servers, spanning 2 to 100 physical locations via Large Area Networks (LANs) and the Internet or Intranets. Lab fee required.

The goal of this course is to provide those already certified on Windows 2000 products the knowledge required by System Administrators, Network Administrators, and IT professionals who implement, manage and troubleshoot existing network and server environments to upgrade their current MCSE 2000 certificate based on the Microsoft Windows 2003 platform requirements. These skills are generally required to maintain an existing network infrastructure utilizing the Microsoft 2003 platform. Lab fee required. Prerequisite: CET 2533 or permission of instructor.

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills needed in order to implement, maintain, and manage the use of routing and remote access, IP addressing in the form of dynamic host configuration protocol usage, name resolution in terms of both domain name and Windows Internet Naming Services, the procedure of domain name service deployment, and how to securely implement network communications using IPSec and certificate services in a Windows 2003 infrastructure. Knowledge of the Windows XP and/or client interfaces is suggested. File/folder structure management and creation, DOS, and hardware knowledge is required. Lab fee required. Prerequisite or corequisite: CTS 2131C.

Within this course, students will learn to describe the elements of SQL Server 2000; design an SQL Server enterprise application architecture; describe the conceptual basis of programming in Transact-SQL; create and manage databases and their related components; implement data integrity by using the IDENTITY column property, constraints, defaults, rules, and unique identifiers; plan for the use of indexes; create and maintain indexes; create, use, and maintain data views; implement user-defined functions; design, create, and use stored procedures; create and implement triggers; program across multiple servers by using distributed queries, distributed transactions, and partitioned views; optimize query performance; analyze queries; and manage transactions and locks to ensure data concurrency and recoverability. This course will provide a comprehensive overview of the skills, knowledge and tools needed to effectively manage projects with special emphasis on the unique challenges of the computing and information technology industries. The course will cover all nine areas of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) established by the Project Management Institute as the industry standard for project management instruction.

This course is designed to acquaint students with many elements of dance and to offer them the opportunity to learn basic dance skills and techniques. Varieties of dance will be explored and compared through observation of films, study of dance history, and participation in the experience of movement. Demonstration followed by student performance of highlights from Broadway shows will be accomplished in this class. May be taken three times for credit.
