CI 774. Teaching English as a Second Language Examines current objectives for teaching English as a second language and a variety of methods and specialized techniques for obtaining these objectives. Students will develop knowledge of criteria for evaluating curricula, teaching materials and professional literature related to teaching English as a second language and bilingual education. Students examine methods of selecting and adapting curricular ways to enhance the curriculum through developing activation plans for involving parent and community resources in the ESL/BE curriculum. Designed to meet the standards required for ESL/BE endorsement or certification in TESOL.
