Applied Linguistics: ESL/Bilingual Teacher(s) Examines a broad picture of human language: what it is, what it is used for, and how it works. Enables students to recognize uninformed statements about language, to examine personal beliefs and attitudes about language, and to learn to use basic tools to analyze language in particular as it relates to teaching English as a second language. Provides an introduction to most of the sub-fields of linguistics (e.g., phonetics, morphology, semantics, syntax, etc.).
