    The cardio jazz class introduces the basic techniques and vocabulary of jazz dance. The class begins with a warm-up consisting of exercises and isolation designed to prepare the dancer for the cardio workout which follows. Across the floor sequences incorporate various dance phrases as well as isolations from the warm-up. The latter part of the class focuses on a center combination using contemporary music. A cool down completes the session.     This course is an introduction to the game of golf. The course is a combination of learning swing fundamentals, short game fundamentals, and the rules and etiquette of the game. The swing fundamentals include the stance, grip, posture, and full swing dynamics. The short game includes putting, chipping, pitching and bunker shots. The rules of the game include nine of the most important rules and etiquette rules of golf. This course will include driving range, golf course and classroom instruction. It is required for you to bring clubs to the course. The following clubs are the minimum you must bring: A wood, 7 iron, pitching wedge, sand wedge and putter. The course will be held primarily at The Darlington Golf Center in Mahwah.     You must be a strong swimmer to take this course. It will increase the student's endurance, strength, and flexibility in the water, as well as teach the skills, figures, and techniques of synchro. Students must be able to swim four pool lengths each of the crawl stroke, breast stroke, side stroke, and back crawl stroke.     This course will work on improving the front crawl stroke as well as teach the elementary back, breast, side and back crawl strokes. Emphasis will be placed on increasing stamina and the skill level of each stroke. Safety issues will be addressed and practiced as well as beginning diving techniques.     This is an intensive course requiring strong swimming skills. A pre-course swimming test will be given on the first day. The test consists of a 500 yard NON-STOP swim using both the crawl and breast strokes with rhythmic breathing and a 20 yard swim to retrieve a 10 pound weight in deep water and return it to the starting point, keeping both hands on the weight and the weight at the surface of the water. American Red Cross certification in PROFESSIONAL CPR and FRIST AID as well as the LIFEGUARD certification will be awarded to students successfully passing all the Red Cross requirements.
