    Hobby Wine Making Pre: Co: Have you ever wanted to make your own wine at home but didn't know where to begin? Maybe you are just curious about the winemaking process. This hands-on class will take you through the process, step-by-step, of making wine at home from commercially available kits. Learn techniques and processes, get advice about equipment, learn about wine and winemaking, and take home samples of your efforts. A $50 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class. Wine will be divided equally among the students to take home. Must be at least 21 years of age to participate. IDs will be checked. No alcohol, wine or sulfite allergies. Class meets on February 5, 12, 26, and March 12.

    OSHA 30-Hour Construction Health and Safety Pre: Co: The OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone involved in the construction industry. Specifically devised for safety directors, foremen, and field supervisors, the program provides complete information on OSHA compliance issues. Participants will receive an OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach DOL course completion card within 4-6 weeks of last class.

    Wine Harvest: From Vineyard to Bottle Pre: Co: Alfalfa Farm Winery is offering a look behind the scenes at what it takes to make wine in New England. Learn about both viticulture and vinification. Gain insight into the winemaking process as we monitor the progress of the grapes before harvest and decide on a harvest date. Then join in the harvest and follow the grapes through fermentation until they are put to rest for the winter. The harvest date and fermentation classes will vary depending on the weather. Students are advised to dress suitably for winemaking activities. Limitations: no alcohol, wine or sulfite allergies; must be able to walk through the vineyard on uneven surfaces. First class meets on Saturday, September 19th. Subsequent classes will meet starting on the determined harvest date in October. Most classes will meet on Saturdays, with the possibility of Sunday rain dates.

    Pairing Food and Wine for the Holidays Pre: Co: In this course we will endeavor to take the mystery out of matching food with wine. Enjoy a fun and tasty experience as you learn what wines further enhance our holiday (or any) dining experiences. Class features food and wine pairings that complement rather than battle with each other. A $25 fee is payable to the instructor to cover wine and food. Bring four wine glasses to class.

    Certified Bookkeeper Program Pre: Co: The American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) has established a professional certification, the Certified Bookkeeper (CB) credential. Individuals possessing this credential earn the right to put "CB" after their name and will advance their careers and assure the maximum compensation for their skills. Certification distinguishes you from other bookkeepers because it proves that you can handle all of the books through the adjusted trial balance for a company up to 200 employees. To obtain certification, individuals must have at least two years of bookkeeping experience, pass the required examinations, and adhere to the AIPB code of ethics. This course assumes a solid background and does not teach basic bookkeeping skills.

Learn some of the basics of evaluating wines, including: tasting technique and how to take notes to recall and compare what you've tasted. Learn the fundamentals of how white and red wines are made.     Project Management: Concepts and Practice Pre: Co: If you are a new project manager, interested in pursuing your Project Management Professional (PMP certification) or wondering how to practice project management in your workplace, this is the course for you. The first session will give an overview of project management concepts and framework. Second session will be more interactive and use exercises and discussions. Learn from the other project managers is the class. Purchase of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK through PMI) is recommended but not required.
