Topics to include: communication, behavioral issues, habilitation therapy, cross cultural issues, activities of daily living and caring for the caregiver. Alzheimer's disease is a progressive irreversible brain disorder with no known cause or cure. It currently affects 26 million people world-wide with predictions of more than 106 million by 2050. Nurses, CNAs, Home Health Aides, and social service providers will earn a certificate of completion upon successful completion of this 12-hour course.

Community and Medical Interpreting Pre: Co: This 54-hour course, offered in collaboration with TransFluenci Translation and Interpreting Services, will help new and experienced interpreters to work in hospitals, health clinics, law offices, governmental agencies, and more, following the standards and ethics of the profession. This course is open to all languages, but students must be able to fully comprehend and communicate in both English and at least one other language. Because a selective interview is required before acceptance, students must register at least two weeks in advance. A certificate will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of this course and participants receiving a certificate will be given the opportunity to interview with TransFluenci Translation and Interpreting Services for potential employment as interpreters.
