An introduction to fabric dyes and procedures and to resist processes. Japanese, African, and Indonesian techniques for tiedye, batik, paste resists, and hand painting on fabric are studied. Emphasis is on development of personal expression as well as technical proficiency. Workshops, slide presentation, and a visiting arts lecture are included.
