An introduction to the principles and the practice of accounting. Coverage is given to the fundamentals of recording, summarizing, analyzing, and reporting financial information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Although all business entities are discussed, the primary focus is the accounting system of the sole proprietorship. Offered fall term each year.

Basic financial and managerial accounting principles as applied to manufacturing, service and retail enterprises. Includes the study of generally accepted accounting. Every semester. Prerequisites: 1) Sophomore standing and 2) MATH 1006 with a minimum grade of C or Math ACT 24 or above or department head approval.
