Students focus on the social environment and apply theoretical frameworks in order to put human behavior into perspective, looking first at the individual from a biological perspective. Next, students examine development of the self. This course examines the impact of culture, the physical environment, and social institutions in shaping human behavior. Students begin to see how social systems impact individual health and well-being.
