A comprehensive study of freshwater resources with extensive discussion of water quality degradation and water supply protection through technical and policy measures. Processes and components of the hydrologic cycle are described as related to freshwater quality. Basic principles of hydrology, limnology and meterology are utilized in detailing water movement and storage in surface and subsurface environments. Emphasis is placed upon the roles of watershed soil and vegetation as influencing water quality. Prerequisites: Introductory course in soil science, geology or ecology, and introductory chemistry.

Students carry out a planned program of educational experiences under the direct supervision of the owner, manager or supervisor of the business.
