Doctors'' offices, hospitals, HMOs, and clinics need the service of skilled billing specialists able to do the important job of medical billing. This is an evening program designed for those who, with general office skills, are seeking specialization. The CMB program focuses on the rules and regulations of the insurance industry, medical terminology, medical coding principles, MediSoft, a medical accounting software package, Microsoft Word and Excel. Successful completion of this program will provide graduates with the opportunity to obtain employment in diverse medical office environments.     The Chairside Dental Assisting - Evening Program at NCCC's Trott Extension Center in Niagara Falls, NY. You can prepare for a rewarding career as a Dental Assistant in our fully equipped dental treatment rooms, x-ray facilities and laboratories at NCCC located at the Trott ACCESS Center; and you can complete the entire program by attending classes only 3 days a week. Our training program offers you a chance to train for what is projected to be one of the fastest-growing occupations in the next few years. Dental Assistants are increasingly in demand, job are readily available and salaries are looking better than ever.     Medical Transcription - Independent Study is a self-directed program designed specifically for those individuals who wish to change their career direction but are unable to attend classes during the traditional college hours. Students, enrolling in the Independent Study class, must meet with the instructor two times per week for three to four hours each meeting time during a 15-week period and must fulfill weekly requirements as scheduled by the instructor. The program includes medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and completion of medical reports and summaries using a transcription machine and computer. Graduates are well prepared to find employment in a doctor's office, hospital, clinic, or at home as a self-employed medical transcriptionist. Prerequisities are keyboarding at 40 words per minute, knowledge of word processing and access to a home computer is required.     EKG (Electrocardiogram) Technician is a health care profession that will continue to grow and be in high demand. EKG Technicians work in doctors' offices, hospitals, clinics, and other health care facilities and organizations. EKG Techs also work for insurance companies to establish health and life insurance policies. EKG Technicians are responsible for performing electrocardiogram tests in order to monitor and record electrical impulses transmitted to the heart. Tests include basic EkGs, holter monitoring, 12 lead placement, and stress tests.     The Medical Front Desk Specialist holds a key position in the medical office in greeting patients, scheduling appointments, processing patient information, managing the reception desk and assisting with other administrative responsibilities. In today's modern medical office environment, the Medical Front Desk Specialist requires skills in communications, word processing, records management, and patient privacy. This twelve (12) week program will prepare individuals for an entry-level employment in various health facilities. Job opportunities are found in physician offices, hospitals, clinics and dental offices. Keyboarding at 25 wpm is required.     CNA Professional Development Seminars - there are four (4) seminars in the series. The first in the series is Cultural and Diversity. Understanding that patients under your care are coming from a very diverse range of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds will enhance your awareness of these factors.
