They are encouraged to enroll in this exciting venture. High school juniors and seniors may also enroll in this course. Students will work with several theatre instructors in the preparation, rehearsing, staging, and actual presentation of a major production in Illinois Central College's Performing Arts Center.

Prerequisite: THTRE 122 or department approval This is a performance course. In this course the student-actor concentrates on the development of character and the perfection of technique, moving from the improvisation to the script and from the exercise space to the stage. Upon completion of this course a student should: (1) recognize the importance of the script and interpretive use of it, (2) understand and practice methods for the physicalization of psychological actions, and (3) expand his knowledge as well as perfect his technique in various methods of working as an actor. In addition to basic traditional massage techniques, good posture, table mechanics, touch and pressure sensitivity, and professional conduct, such as draping, are practiced. The history of massage, benefits, contraindications, and therapist self-care issues will be discussed.
