Students will create a one-of-a-kind brand experience through the design and development of a retail environment. This hands-on approach demonstrates the drawing, editing, dimensioning, output and presentation capabilities of the program. Students learn to develop a project from initial sketches to a finished two-dimensional plot, appreciating the importance of the program in modern professional practice. Familiarity with Windows operating system and basic drafting skills required. Please bring a blank CD or a USB flash drive to the first class meeting.

The rest of the workshop will be spent familiarizing students with the many materials, tools, and techniques used in decorative painting. You will need to bring your sense of adventure, excitement and left over house paint to this workshop. Dragging, Combing, Sponging, Stippling, Ragging, Flogging, Color Washing, and alternative techniques will be covered. Wear paint clothes and be prepared to have fun and get dirty!

    (formerly Perspective Drawing) Instructor: Kirsten Fischler twelve sessions Monday, 6:00-9:15 PM; February 16-May 4 NON-CREDIT Tuition: $450; 3.9 CEUs CREDIT Tuition: $900; 2 Credits Learn the basic principles of linear perspective and apply them through observational drawing. Students gain the ability to create drawings which have believable spatial arrangements, and depth. History of the development and use of perspective and relevant works from old masters to contemporary artists will be discussed. We will cover one-point and multiple-point perspective using various drawing techniques, measuring devices and their uses, relevant concepts such as optics, as well as projected perspective in an invented space. Basic drawing experience is preferred.
