You will assess your own skills and plan for the future as you apply all of these concepts to the writing of a business plan.

    In this course, you will learn about the design, analysis, planning, and control of business processes to achieve desired performance objectives. Topics include: the relationship between operations strategy and process structure; the impact of process structure on process performance; process performance measures and their relationships; process performance evaluation; managerial levers for improving and controlling process performance and systems; and managerial issues in planning and designing quality assurance systems.

You will polish you presentation skills by presenting your business plan to an outside panel of evaluators.

    Students will study the role of financial accounting in a corporate setting and learn how to analyze publicly issued financial statements for decision-making. You will also study techniques for analyzing internal accounting data for making costing, pricing, production, and investment decisions. This includes budgeting, cost behaviors, cost volume- profit analysis, investment decisions, and responsibility accounting. It is strongly recommended for the student to have a firm basis in quantitative analysis (MC 506) and well-developed communication skills (MC 511) before studying management accounting. MC 500 introduces the concepts and techniques of financial analysis.

    In order to be effective in today's increasingly complex and computerized business environment, managers need to use a variety of mathematical and scientific tools for analysis, planning, monitoring, and decision making. This course covers important quantitative management techniques, including basic statistics, linear programming, regression analysis, project and inventory modeling, and decision making and forecasting methodology. By learning the concepts and how to apply the tools to practical business situations, students will acquire a necessary foundation for most of the other courses in their MBA programs, as well as for their future business careers.
