The course integrates molecular, cellular, and biochemical events in the immune system response to foreign invasion. Studies involve innate and specific immune systems, cells and tissues involved in the immune system, immunoglobulin structure and function, genetic expression of antibodies, the nature of antigen antibody interactions, mechanisms of B cell and T cell development, and activation, hypersensitivity, and autoimmunity.
