The CQE prep class covers the principles of product and service quality evaluation and control, development and operation of quality control systems, application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures, the use of metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices, an understanding of human factors and motivation, quality cost concepts and techniques, development and administration of management information systems and to audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

Employees involved in performing work processes are the linchpins of lean implementation and process improvement. Flow or cellular manufacturing involves rearranging traditional operation-based layouts into process-based cells that promote smooth production flow. Pull systems link the production process to customer demand and eliminates waste. Working in conjunction with Kanban systems, the participant in this class learns to manage pull systems.

The purpose of this training is to prepare participants to lead improvement project events. The training is one day duration. Facilitation actions are categorized into two types for the purpose of study and practice. First, are Preventions; creating an agenda, clarifying roles, understanding decision making methods are examples. Second, are Interventions; dealing with unproductive or dysfunctional behavior such as lack of participation, side discussions, and negative comments. Giving and receiving feedback and brainstorming techniques are presented and practiced.

This workshop will help you 1) recognize and evaluate the potential failure of a product/process and its effects; 2) identify actions that could eliminate or reduce the chance of the potential failure occurring; and 3) document the process. The intent of FMEA is to enhance the design process and provide greater customer confidence with the product being supplied and thereby increase customer satisfaction.
