Principles of personal salesmanship including methods and tasks applicable to a wide variety and commercial settings. Students will be able to identify the elements of the communication process between buyers and sellers in business and examination of the legal regulations and ethical issues of business, which affect salespeople. Three class hours per week. Credit: Three semester hours.

Topics presented are: general principles of law including concepts of law; origin and functions of the legal process and the court systems, including civil and criminal aspects within a constitutional framework; common law contracts and commercial sales contracts including bailments and carrier liabilities; legal aspects of basic business associations including agency law, employer-employee relationships, and tort liability; commercial paper, negotiable instruments, and secured business transactions; debtor-creditor rights; and bankruptcy. Three class hours per week. Credit: Three semester hours.

Introduces and prepares the business student for a logical way of analyzing business problems and aids in decision-making. Topics include organizing and presenting data, descriptive statistics, probability, discrete and continuous distribution, systems of equations, modeling, optimization procedures and statistical inference. Prerequisites: MATH 1342 and ENGL 1301. Three class hours per week. Credit: Three semester hours.
