    This class provides students with a generalized background into the interdisciplinary field of Medical Humanities. Through lectures, readings, films, projects and class discussions students will develop an understanding of and respect for the various ways scholars study and conceptualize human health and health experiences throughout time and space. As Medical Humanities draws from many fields, the course will explore a variety of scholarly perspectives, including history, philosophy, literary analysis, anthropology, sociology, psychology, and artistic presentation. Additionally, this course will endeavor to encourage and strengthen critical thinking and analytical skills in relation to, and across, these topics so that students are able to make meaningful interdisciplinary connections within both academic and non-academic settings.

    This course should be a synthesis of the various courses in medical humanities, from different disciplines, that you have taken. As such, it relies rather heavily on your disciplinary and career interests. We will review the courses we have taken in the minor, and we will each choose a project or paper from a different class to revise, bearing the fundamentals of medical humanities in mind. The last half of this class will function as a workshop, with conferences and discussions relating to your final, 8-10 page paper.

    This internship opportunity, taken as an alternative to the MEDH capstone seminar, allows for students to pursue an internship at MUSC, preferably one that aligns with their career goals. This functions as an online course; they will be sharing our experiences and making connections between the internships and previous MEDH coursework.

    This course is for all students of the college who are interested in a survey of the activities that occur in a business institution. The various types and forms of business organizations will be presented and analyzed with special emphasis on the role of the business enterprise in society. Business school majors who have completed or are concurrently enrolled in a 300- or 400-level business, international business, economics or accounting course may not receive credit for this course. This course will not be applied toward the GPA in business, international business, economics or accounting.
