The class is taught as a block which consists of classroom, lab, clinical, and field internship hours providing training in basic and advanced life support procedures used to treat medical and trauma patients. Clinical and field hours will require the student to provide their own transportation to various clinical sites. Clinical and field hours may be scheduled outside of normal school hours. Upon completion of this course, students are eligible to take the NM EMS Bureau EMTIntermediate exam. Prerequisites: Current EMT-B, current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Basic Arrhythmia Recognition.
