Survey of Peninsular Literature illustrates how the presence of the Visigothics helped to spread Christianity among the people of the peninsula in its earliest stages and later on, after 1492, to the rest of the world. This course will examine the history of the Spanish language and the origin of the dialects of Spain. A study will begin with the linguistic evolution of Vulgar Latin. This course will also preview the Castilian and Andalusian dialects which emerged in the Iberian Peninsula (Hispania) during the middle ages.
