Interdisciplinary course involving all requirements for starting a business: the idea, market assessment, how to raise funds, exploiting opportunities, legal organization, taxes, entrepreneurial characteristics necessary for success and creation of a business plan. Prerequisite: 6300 or equivalent. Study and application of principles of management to international fields of business organization and cross-cultural operation. The degree of universality of management functions to all phases of business and development.

Analysis of theory and practice in designing organization structure. Topics include systems and contingency theories, strategic management, patterns of organization design, technology, size, innovation and change, and information systems and control.

Prerequisite: consent of instructor. Issues and strategies associated with strategic planning and implementation of the application of IT in health-care organizations. Examination of role of information technology as a critical contributor to strategies and plans to integrate care, reduce costs and respond to a complex reimbursement environment. Same as IDM 6375.
