    A specialized, intensive workplaceexperience designed to strengthen a student's job skills by providing an opportunity to use acquired skills and techniques with young children. An individualized learning plan will be developed by the placement site, college and student. Ten hours per week of regularly scheduled lab experience is required; fi ve hours of this must be completed at the ACC Lab School. Offered in Spring. Insurance Fee: $13.50 Prerequisites: CDEC 1166, CDA credit or department approval.     A practical applicationof management procedures for early care and education programs, including a study of planning, operating, supervising, and evaluating programs. Topics covered include program philosophy, types of programs, policies, fi scal management, regulations, staffi ng, evaluation and communication. Regularly scheduled fi eld assignments are required.     An in-depth studof the skills and techniques in managing early care and education programs, including legal and ethical issues, personnel management, team building, leadership, confl ict resolution, stress management, advocacy, professionalism, fi scal analysis and planning, parent education/ partnerships, and technical applications in programs.     Astudy of age appropriate child care programs for children 5 to 13 years old. Topics covered include an overview of school age development, developmentally appropriate environments, activities, planning and teaching techniques appropriate for school age children.
