Topics include the history of psychology, critical thinking and research methods in psychology, the biological and psychological bases of consciousness, sensation, perception, memory, learning, memory, cognition, development across the lifespan, motivation, emotion, sexuality, stress and health, social psychology, personality, psychological disorders, and psychological therapies. This course is a study of the biological, psychological, and psychosocial bases and manifestations of human sexual behavior. Topics include sex in history, theory and research in sexuality, anatomy and physiology of sex, sex in the context of human relationships, gender development and identity, sexuality and the lifecycle, pregnancy and childbirth, sexual dysfunctions and disease, sexual deviancy, and sex in society. Prerequisites: PSY 1410 and documented eligibility for collegiate English.
