PSY 370: The Psychology of Testing and Assessment

Prerequisite: PSY 110 and any 200-level PSY course This course addresses the theory and practice of testing and assessment as it relates to classroom tests, personality tests, intelligence tests, aptitude and achievement tests, clinical assessment tests, and tests of career interests and personnel selection. Practical issues include the details of constructing, administering, and interpreting tests; theoretical issues address such questions as how these phenomena can be assessed in a meaningful and accurate way. The use of statistical concepts is important in this course, but taking statistics is NOT a prerequisite to taking this course; although, we will be doing some math, the concepts are more important than the math.
