ENGL U399: Independent Study

Directed research and reading project outside the classroom of a complex and extensive nature in keeping with the student's major creative and/or scholarly interests. In addition to writing required for a particular independent study project, a written report on work accomplished is required at the end of the term. Research involves both primary and secondary sources. May be repeated with the consent of the instructor and advisor for total of no more than six hours of undergraduate credit. A university contract must be signed with all required signatures. Prerequisite: Junior or senior standing; GPA 2.0 overall and 2.5 in English courses; ENGL U101 and ENGL U102; a minimum of 6 hours in English courses numbered U300 and above; and consent of instructor and advisor.
