This 8-week course focuses on developing a foundational knowledge of medical cannabis, the medical cannabis industry, and exploring careers opportunities, as well as skills and abilities that are required to work in the industry. Instruction and resources are provided from experts within the medical cannabis industry in a blended format. This includes several weekly remote presentations and discussions via Zoom, as well as asynchronous (independent) assignments and learning activities that are completed online. This course is designed to provide students with a well-rounded introduction that includes the history and use of cannabis, as well as the plant botany, medical applications, legal and regulatory considerations, the patient journey, and related aspects of the industry, such as CBD and hemp. In addition, this course explores infrastructure features currently trending, such as in-house security, research and development, and marketing.
