An introduction to the practice and process of acting in the Hollywood entertainment arena. Topics include the role of agents, managers, casting directors, and unions; equity waiver theatres and showcases; photos and resumes; and an exploration of the audition process used for commercials, live theatre, film, and television. The class will provide a limited number of both off and on camera acting exercises. Attention will also be given to the unique role and demands that the acting profession places on the Christian actor. Class 3.

Students participate in a nonpaying internship experience in some aspect of the Hollywood film or television industry. Students work 20 to 24 hours a week throughout the length of the semester. Orientation to the internship includees an overview of the creative and operational aspects of the Hollywood entertainment business, including the Christian's role in working therein. This LAFS course is only offered through the Los Angeles Film Studies Program of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities. Class 6.

This course provides an introduction to organizational leadership from a Christian perspective. Students learn fundamental concepts of leadership, visionary leadership, team building, communication, power, and liaison skills. A variety of learning methods, including case studies, role plays, research, role playing exercises, and other experiential methods are used to promote learning of Christian leadership concepts. Class 3. (Spring)

This practicum is designed to expose the student to real-world leadership experiences, including leadership symposia, workshops, and service opportunities. Students are required to successfully lead a team, organizational unit, or project under the direction of the leadership practicum mentor. Students are also required to submit a leadership portfolio. Covers beginning algebra with an emphasis on the development of algebraic skills. Includes a review of the real numbers and moves into solving equations, factoring, graphing equations, inequalities, systems of equations, solving fractional equations, and radical notations. Required of all students whose ACT/SAT scores indicate deficiency in algebra. Not applicable to graduation requirements. Class 3.
