2.00 Credits
Prerequisite: ITCS 1010, ITCS 1105, ITCS 1820; or permission of instructor This course introduces CGI (Common Gateway Interface) programming in a microcomputer environment. Students will use previously mastered procedural and object-oriented techniques and HTML to develop web-based client-server programs that capture information and use CGI on a web server to process that data. Students will use Perl, an industry standard language, to process the information. (3.25 contact hours: 0.75 lecture, 2.5 lab)
-
2.00 Credits
Prerequisite: ITCS 1105, ITCS 2140 or ITCS 2170 or ITCS 2820, ITDB 1400; or permission of instructor This course introduces PHP Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) technologies for the Internet in a microcomputer environment. Students will study intermediate and advanced HTML, server-side scripting techniques, processing of data to and from databases and non-traditional data formats, and other techniques to create dynamic Web pages. (3.25 contact hours: 0.75 lecture, 2.5 lab)
-
2.00 Credits
Prerequisite: ITCS 1810, ITCS 2140, ITDB 1400; or permission of instructor This course introduces ASP.NET programming for the Internet in a microcomputer environment. Students will study intermediate HTML, web scripting, and other advanced techniques to create dynamic web applications using server-side technology with ASP.NET. (3.25 contact hours: 0.75 lecture, 2.5 lab)
-
3.00 Credits
Prerequisite: ITCS 2105, ITCS 2140, ITDB 1400; or permission of instructor This course introduces intermediate and advanced CGI programming techniques in a hands-on microcomputer environment. Students will explore the concepts of regular expressions, processing of data to and from databases and non-traditional data formats, and other techniques as the language and protocols evolve. Students will process the information and compare techniques using three common languages: Perl, Python, and Ruby. (5 contact hours: 1 lecture, 4 lab)

4.00 Credits
Prerequisite: permission of instructor and, Internet Programming Concentration: ITCS 2010, ITCS 2105, ITCS 2140, ITCS 2820, ITDB 1400, ITIS 1108, ITIS 1115, ITIS 1130; or Web Content Developer Concentration: BUSM 2550, ITCS 1810 or ITCS 1820, ITCS 2010, ITCS 2120, ITIS 1108, ITIS 1115, ITIS 1120, ITIS 1130, PHOT 2350 This course serves as the capstone to both the Internet Programming Concentration and the Web Content Developer Concentration by providing students with practical experience that integrates previously studied skills and concepts within their respective programs. Students will work independently using previously mastered techniques from all prerequisite courses along with other current industry programming practices to research, design, develop, and implement an Internet/Intranet business related application. Topics include budgeting, project scheduling/monitoring/execution, and documentation of the finished project from both a systems and an end-user perspective. The course culminates in a formal presentation in which students will demonstrate both the project and all associated documentation. Students will also utilize effective Web design techniques studied in previous courses and use resources from previous courses as reference material. (8 contact hours: 2 lecture, 6 lab)

3.00 Credits
Prerequisite: ITCS 1810, ITDB 1400 (can be taken concurrently) or ITDB 1430 (can be taken concurrently) or ITIS 1530 (can be taken concurrently); or permission of instructor This course provides advanced instruction in application development, user interface design, current standard Windows program development methodologies, and object-oriented programming using Visual Basic.NET. Students will use SQL (Structured Query Language) to update database files, custom controls to create specialized programs, Data Report Designer to create reports, and will create MDI (Multiple Document Interface) programs and Web pages. (5 contact hours: 1 lecture, 4 lab)
