    A prep course of the Dental Assisting Exam. This workshop will enable participants to prepare for the Radiation Health and Safety portion of the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Exam. The following topics will be covered: Radiation Safety for the patient and operator-Paralleling and Bisecting Technique-History of Radiation-X-ray production-Fundamental characteristics of quality intraoral and extraoral radiographs-Storage and disposal of radio- graphic equipment and processing chemicals-Film mounting- DANB Radiation Health and Safety exam preparation exercises OSHA regulations on infection control as it related to dental radiographs-Resource materials will be provided.     Participants in this vigorous deep-water aqua aerobics class will utilize flotation belts for buoyancy and resistive gloves for increased strength. While swimming skills are not required, participants will spend 75% of class time in the deep water. Activities include strength training and moderate to high level cardiovascular aqua jogging. Participants will not be required to go under water, but some splashing may occur. All are required to complete a short medical questionnaire, which is kept in confidence by the certified instructor.

The class begins with a warm-up, slowly blends into a workout that combines martial arts, boxing and dance, includes an abdomen-tightening segment, and ends with a relaxation streth. Kickboxing's energy and excitement are a trememdous source of motivation. Beyond the physical benefits, this workout also builds self-esteem and self-confidence. The class is very simple to follow! The instructor demonstrates modifications for limitations and encourages participants to go at their own pace. Participants are encouraged to consult their physicians prior to taking the class.
