This course is hands-on, self paced with short lectures, allowing plenty of time to practice with supervision. Students learn how to quickly produce foundations, framing and roofs, design kitchens, insert casework, windows doors, and generate walkthroughs for clients. The course will help contractors who wish to show clients finished design for projects under 35,000 CF. This course provides familiarity with basic building framing, but does not teach building code. It does not require previous computer experience, but it helps to be familiar with Word for Windows.

This course begins with sketching, constraining and dimensioning parts, then editing sketched features and building assemblies. It covers placed features (filets, threads, shells) generating drawing views, adding splines and ribs, examines weldments and sheet metal for those interested, touches on part design automation, and will briefly examine AutoCad 3-D development for those interested.
