An introductory course which covers the sequences that go into successful selling. The primary objective is for each student to develop basic sales techniques. The essential sales theories and principles are developed and practiced through student involvement in sales presentations.

This course explores all phases of advertising including all electronic and print media, direct marketing, as well as sales promotion. Emphasis is placed on creation of the message, selection of media, and the planning, coordination, and evaluation of the integrated marketing communications (IMC) campaign. This includes common communication look and feel and outlines how campaigns are measured to achieve company return on investment goals.

This is an introductory course dealing with the history and role in society of the mass media. Emphasis is on press, magazines, television, and radio and on the functions of advertising and public relations. Career opportunities in the various media are covered.

This course will describe the process of functioning effectively in a services economy. Defines and describes the nature and characteristics of services and the ways services need to be marketed due to their intangible core. Topics include service quality, the foundation of services marketing, and the success factors in service marketing.

This course provides an introduction to customer service operations such as customer service operations terminology, customer service audits, security procedures and detection of fraud and theft, financial forecasts, and budgets for customer services offerings. An overview of customer service operations in banking/ financial, leisure services, insurance, and retail will be discussed.

This course examines how the functions of recruitment, selection and staffing, and training fit into a human resources department. Students will practice analyzing positions, recruiting qualified applicants, interviewing candidates for employment and, once hired, orienting and training them.

This course discusses various compensation and benefits plans, legal issues, and the administration of compensation and benefits plans. Emphasis is on providing a basic understanding of the business concepts utilized in the compensation and benefits area.

This course is a study of human resources management law and regulations. Topics include state and federal employment regulation, Civil Rights Acts, EEOC legislation, OSHA, Rights of Women, Elderly and Handicapped, as they apply to human resources functions.

This course examines the unique duties and responsibilities of officers, the organization and role of the Army, reviews skills pertaining to fitness and communication, and analyzes Army values and expected ethical behavior. Two-hour lab per week required.

This course presents fundamental leadership concepts and doctrine, practices basic skills that underlie effective problem-solving, and examines the officer experience. Two-hour lab per week required.
