Attendance at a live theater production may be required. Complex texts (essay and book-length works) refl ecting a variety of cultural, historical, and philosophical perspectives will be read, discussed, and analyzed. The course includes inductive and deductive reasoning, fallacious reasoning, and use of persuasive language. The minimum word requirement of 6,500 words will be divided among at least four formal essays, ranging from 1,000-3,000 words each, two of which will include primary and secondary research and MLA format. Several group and individual class presentations will be required.
