Case studies and complex scenarios are used to provide the student with advanced systems administration skills in diverse environments. Topics will include distributed systems information, NDS partitioning, NFS and NIS, accounting, task automation, disk partitioning, replication, integrating diverse systems in a network, RAID, system backup strategies, and disaster recovery. Prerequisites: CS 240 and CS 270. Alternate years.

The design and study of compilers and interpreters for Pascal-like languages, lexical analysis, LL and recursive descent parsing, LR and LALR parsing semantic analysis, intermediate code generation, and simple optimization. Prerequisites: CS 301 and CS 381. Spring semester, even-numbered years.

Designed for students to get practical on-the-job systems administration experience in a corporate or nonprofit organization. Allows students to apply classroom knowledge and gain hands-on experience by assisting an organization's IT staff to manage the many aspects of a real-world network system. Prerequisite: Junior standing. Offered on demand.

Develops an understanding of economics with respect to unemployment, inflation, GNP and the price level, money and the banking system, the role of economics in relation to government policy (fiscal policy and monetary policy), international trade, and the international monetary system. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing. (Same as BA 223-G)

Introduces the student to the basic concepts underlying all of economics. These concepts include supply and demand relationships, prices, scarcity, elasticity, the concept of opportunity cost, market efficiency, economic decision making, questions of monopoly, profit and the government's role in the economic market. Prerequisite: BA 223-G or consent of instructor. (Same as BA 224)

A study will be made of the major political and economic ideologies of the world. Emphasis will be placed on the variations and historical development of authoritarianism, democracy, totalitarianism, Communism, Fascism, socialism, capitalism, and the welfare state. (Same as PS 240-G/HI 245) Spring semester, alternate years.

Marketing problems and practices from the managerial point of view: the market, the product, retailing, wholesaling, distribution, selling, and pricing. Prerequisite: Senior standing, or consent of instructor. (Same as BA 329)
