(Pre/Corequisite: ACR 131, ACR 132, ACR 133, or ACR 134) Introduces methods and techniques used in the process of color matching and production. Topics include: tinting methods, gun techniques, variables adjustments, color flip-flop determination and correction, and reduc tion procedures.

(Pre/Corequisite: ACR 134) Introduces the methods and techniques used in detailing a refinished automotive sur face. Topics include: finish analysis, color sanding, polishes and glazes, cleaning vehicle, and decal and stripes.

(Prerequisite: Completion of all required courses in Paint and Reflnish specialization) Provides occupation-based learning opportunities for students pursuing the Paint and Refinishing specialization. Students will be mentored by qualified professional technicians as they experience work ing in the Automotive Collision Repair profession in an industry standard commercial repair facility or industry standard simulated on-campus facility. Topics include: sanding, priming, and paint preparation; special refinishing applications; urethane enamels; tint and match colors; detailing; and employability skills.

(Prerequisite: Provisional admission) Introduces funda mental concepts and theories of refrigeration. Topics in clude: laws of thermodynamics, pressure and temperature relationship, heat transfer, refrigeration cycle, and safety.

(Prerequisite: ACT 100) Introduces the use of refrigera tion tools, materials, and procedures needed to install, repair, and service refrigeration systems. Topics include: refrigeration tools; piping practices; service valves; leak testing; refrigerant recovery, recycling, and reclamation; evacuation; charging; and safety.

(Prerequisites: ACT 100 and ACT 101) Provides the student with the skills and knowledge to install, test, and service major components of a refrigeration system. Topics include: compressors, condensers, evaporators, metering devices, refrigeration accessories, and safety.

(Prerequisite: Provisional admission) Introduction to fundamental electrical concepts and theories as applied to the air conditioning industry. Topics include; A/C and D/C theory, electric meters, elective diagrams, distribution systems, electrical panels, voltage circuits, code require ments, and safety.

(Prerequisite: ACT 103) Continues the development of skills and knowledge necessary for application and service of electric motors commonly used by the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. Topics include: diagnostic tech niques, installation procedures, capacitots, and safety.

(Prerequisites: ACT 103 and ACT 104) Provides instruc tion in identifying, installing and testing commonly used electrical components in an air conditioning system. Top ics include: pressure switches, overload devices, transform ers, magnetic starters, other commonly used controls, and safety.

(Prerequisite: ACT 105) Provides instruction on wiring various types of air conditioning systems. Topics include; control circuits, system wiring, solid state controls, servic ing procedures, and safety.
