(3 credits) GE Biological principles that familiarizes the students with the history, organization, growth, metabolism, and genetics of organisms. The course also includes an overview on cell structure, ecology, and behavior.

(4 credits) GE Analysis of the structure, function, and organization of biological molecules into cellular structures, cellular growth, metabolism and its regulation, genetics including growth, replication, mutation and repair mechanisms, biotechnology, and evolution of organisms. Course includes a lab component.

(4 credits) GE This course is a continuation of BSC 2010 that familiarizes the students with the diversity of organisms, comparative plant and animal physiology, introduction to anatomy, developmental biology, population biology, ecology, and applications to clinical sciences. Course includes a lab component. Prerequisite: BSC 2010.

(4 credits) GE, S This is an essentials level course in Anatomy and Physiology with a laboratory component, designed for Paramedic and Dental Hygiene students. It is a one semester course with a laboratory component, carrying four semester hours of credit. It is designed to provide the student with a solid background, with emphasis on knowledge required in the clinical setting, and on clinical thinking skills. The course will also be suitable for General Education requirements as well as students desiring to enter other Allied Health disciplines - such as Respiratory Therapy. It is NOT designed for students desiring to enter the Nursing or Physical Therapist Assistant programs. Students wishing to pursue a bachelor's degree in the sciences, entering the Nursing or Physical Therapist Assistant programs should opt for the two semester sequence of Anatomy and Physiology (BSC 2085 & Lab, BSC 2086 & Lab). Prerequisite: Completion of REA 0002, ENC 0020, MAT 0002 with a "C" or betteror score out on appropriate placement test.

(3 credits) GE The fi rst course in human anatomy and physiology is a survey of the chemistry, structure, and function of the human body to include the following topics: cells and cytology, tissue and histology, the integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, and nervous system. The course is designed for students in the health related, biological, and physical education programs. Prerequisites: Completion of REA 0002, ENC 0020, MAT 0024 with a score of C or better or score out on appropriate placement test. Corequisite: BSC 2085L. Such laboratory exercises include microscopic observations, experimentation, and the study of skeletal materials and anatomical models, as well as dissections. Lab fee. Prerequisites: Completion of REA 0002, ENC 0020, MAT 0024 with a "C" or better orscore out on an appropriate placement test. Corequisite: BSC 2085.

(3 credits) GE A continuation of the anatomy and physiology sequence about the human body to include the following topics: special senses, endocrine system, circulatory system, lymphatic system and body defenses, respiratory system, digestive system, nutrition and cellular energetics, urinary system, fl uid and electrolyte dynamics, reproductive system, and genetics. Prerequisites: Completion of BSC 2085/BSC 2085L with a minimum grade of C. Corequisite: BSC 2086L.

(3 credits) F, SP A study of law as it relates to business matters concerning contracts, sales, bailments, commercial paper, emploment, and the unform commercial code. Prerequisite: REA 0002 with a grade of C or better or appropriate test score.

(3 credits) SP This course studies the role of agencies within the criminal justice system relative to their responsibilities for prevention, apprehension, conviction, and disposition of individuals who come in contact with agencies of the system. Special emphasis on specifi c present problem areas in the system are also studied.
