Learns principles, concepts, and group dynamics and the therapeutic use of groups in a psychosocial setting. Students demonstrate group leadership skills, application of psychosocial theory, knowledge of classical symptomology and therapeutic use of tasks in planning and carrying out a mock group demonstration. Prerequisites: OCCP-307, and must be taken the last semester in residence before admission to fieldwork.

5 days a week for 4 Weeks; Summer Session). Provides a clinically supervised Level I Fieldwork that encourages beginning level hands-on experience; two weeks in a psychosocial setting and two weeks in a setting for adults with physical dysfunctions. Students are expected to shadow a therapist in the setting and to complete a detailed case study on one client. Prerequisites: OCCP-305, 307, 308, 310, 311; must be taken the summer preceding the senior year.

3.00 Credits
Uses systems analysis and the systems approach to understanding health care organizations and management principles. Explores management theory, marketing strategies, quality assurance, health legislation, research, and payment structures. Students develop an organizational project specific to occupational therapy. Prerequisite: must have completed one year in the curriculum.

4.00 Credits
Study of the OT process and the therapeutic application of technology, orthotics, principles of work hardening, ergonomics, ADA compliance and the psychosocial implications. Laboratory experience. Prerequisites: OCCP-307, 308, 309, 311, and concurrently with OCCP- 411, 412, and 418.

Involves three-months (12 weeks) of full-time, supervised clinical experience in an approved fieldwork setting with a concentration in physical dysfunctions. Prerequisites: All professional academic course requirements must be complete with a grade of "C" or better and minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0 and approval of the OT faculty. OCCP-417. Fieldwork Experience II. 12 crs. Involves three-months (12 weeks) of full-time, supervised clinical experience in an approved fieldwork setting with a concentration in psychosocial dysfunctions. Prerequisites: All professional academic course requirements must be complete with a grade of "C" or better and minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0 and approval of the OT faculty. OCCP-418. Research. 2 crs. Explores scientific research concepts and terminology. Learns search skills and APA style documentation. Learns the basics of qualitative and quantitative design. Uses consumer level knowledge of research for reading scientific journals and the occupational therapy literature. Participates in the design and/or data collection portion of a research project or completes a literature review as a final project. Prerequisites: Basic statistics; reserved for senior occupational therapy student

Involves two or three months of full-time, supervised experience in an approved fieldwork training site with concentration in a specialty area such as pediatrics, geriatrics, research, technology, hand therapy, teaching or administration. Prerequisite: approval of the OT faculty.

Explores the history, educational and occupational opportunities, organizations and ethics of the physician assistant profession. Prereq.: Admission to professional curriculum.

A series of lectures, demonstrations and laboratory procedures covering the indication, clinical application and interpretation of diagnostic tests frequently encountered in clinical practice. Prereq.: Admission to professional curriculum.

A systematic analysis of major diseases encountered in primary care medicine. Utilizing an organ system approach, emphasis on etiology, pathophysiology, presentation, diagnosis, management, and prevention of diseases is provided. Prereq.: Admission to professional curriculum.
