These include techniques for establishing effective classroom routines, student instruction and assessment, and maintaining a positive classroom/shop/laboratory climate that conveys high expectations. Students also will learn to identify the elements of a course/program curriculum, as well as how to develop a lesson plan, assign and grade homework and collaborate with colleagues to improve instruction, assessment and student achievement.

Students are assisted in implementing the various facets of their role within a given setting. Visitations are planned not only to observe the competencies being demonstrated but to meet with school administrators in defining the role and functions. Practicum seminar is designed to assist the total group in dealing with current concerns and issues and to allow students to learn from the experiences of each other.
