(3) This course provides an advanced experience in the art and science of cartography, the making and studying of maps in all of their aspects. Students will work with state of the art spatial imaging and visualization equipment and software in a series of independent exercises, culminating in a major mapping and research project focused on each individual's research interests. Given that technology is developing so rapidly in the cartographic field, emphasis is directed toward those cartographic skills which will be applicable across a wide range of technologies and map-making media. Requisites: PR, MATH 110 and GSCI 290 and PERM.
