Origin, history and development of plants and animals. Includes evidence from anatomy, paleontology, comparative physiology, biochemistry, immunology, genetics. Special topics in biology and biotechnology will be discussed along with appropriate lab and/or field trip activities. New developments will be emphasized, especially materials useful in K-12 education and industry. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Course may be repeated up to three times when topics are different, and may count for a maximum of six variable credits. - Develops the ability to transform written copy or script voice performance emphasizing copy preparation, breath control, pronunciation, articulation, use of full dynamic range, microphone techniques, and hand signals. A variety of copy, including commercials, news and public service announcements covered. - Workshop in both mediums emphasizing variety of producing air programs; location instruction and televising of meetings, plays, sports, TV and radio; both media will be used to compare and isolate various techniques of each area.
