Principles of heredity, structure of genetic material, mechanism transmission, and the role of genetics in evolution. Application of these principles in human and other organisms is included. Writing assignments, as appropriate to discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Biology 101 and Biology 102 or Biology 114 and Biology 115 or Consent of Department Chairperson. 2-3 lecture and 4 lab hours per week. 3-4 credit hours.
