An introduction to the principles and the practice of accounting. Coverage is given to the fundamentals of recording, summarizing, analyzing, and reporting financial information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Although all business entities are discussed, the primary focus is the accounting system of the sole proprietorship. Offered fall term each year.

This course introduces basic accounting procedures for analyzing recording and summarizing financial transactions adjusting and closing the financial records at the end of the accounting cycle and preparing financial statements.
